Go Africa – 🇹🇿 Tanzania – Dar es Salaam, Street Evangelism 2
The next day, we were originally supposed to join the school ministry again,
but since there was still a van being repaired,
we had to split into a school ministry team and a street evangelism team.
Since we had missed the school ministry the day before,
we were asked if it might be better for us to go to the school ministry.
But we had already agreed together
that we wanted to go out for street evangelism again that day.
We were also supposed to meet a missionary couple
whom we had been in contact with
and had planned to meet even before coming on the Go Africa Tour.
So we went into downtown Dar es Salaam
as the street evangelism team.
We met the missionary couple at a café
and talked for quite a while.
One part of the conversation
brought back many of the thoughts
I had been carrying recently.
I found myself thinking,
“Of course. This is what You are trying to tell me.”
And I felt that God was making those things
even clearer through what they were sharing.
I continued thinking about what I had felt through that conversation
even afterward.
They told us that our conversation
had also been a great source of strength and comfort
to their family.
But for me as well,
this meeting and conversation stayed with me deeply.
Since most of the conversation
was between me and the missionary couple,
the team members left their bags at the café
and took turns going outside
to continue evangelizing.
They handed out Gospel tracts,
shared Bibles,
and shared the Gospel in English and Swahili.
I had also expected
that I wouldn’t be able to go out for a while
because of the long conversation with the missionary couple.
But before they arrived,
I went outside and met one person
and shared the Gospel with him.
He listened to the Gospel with joy
and received Jesus.
After saying goodbye to the missionary couple,
we decided to keep sharing the Gospel
until it was time for dinner,
and we went back out.
We shared Bibles on SD cards containing the Swahili Bible,
and with Gospel tracts
and our Swahili Gospel scripts,
we continued evangelizing
until it was time to eat.
After that,
we had dinner at a restaurant
recommended by the missionary couple,
and we met the Maasai people
we had met on the street earlier.
(It was so good to see them again.)
There was also the joy
of being able to share the Maasai Bibles
that we still had left in our bags
with them again.
And on the way back to our accommodation,
we talked about the Gospel
with a young Muslim man
who was our taxi driver.
It was quite a good conversation.
The young man said that he had a strong faith,
and we went back and forth
with many questions and answers for quite a while.
As we talked,
I could sense moments when he thought,
“Oh.”
and moments when new questions began to arise.
Sehee and Zaya, who were sitting in the back,
also continued praying for him.
When we arrived at the accommodation,
I asked if I could bless him and pray for him.
He accepted the prayer,
and we also exchanged Instagram accounts.
It was because I wanted to keep seeing
the things that have happened in Africa
and the things that will happen in the future.
The time we spent praying for him was earnest,
and at the same time,
it was a moment that made me trust even more
in what the Lord would do.
Late at night.
As we finished two days of street evangelism,
it was truly a time we were grateful for,
and through this time,
we were able to experience so many things.
